Overview
This twelve-day, eleven-night journey covers four of America's most iconic cities: New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. Private-vehicle transfers meet you on arrival in each city, hotel stays are included throughout, and a full menu of optional sightseeing excursions - from a New York icons tour to the Grand Canyon and Alcatraz - is available to build each day around what you want to see most. This is a land-only package: international flights and the domestic legs between New York and Los Angeles, and between Las Vegas and San Francisco, are not included and can be arranged separately.
Itinerary
- Day 1 :
Arrival in New York
Welcome to New York! On arrival, meet your representative and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel in Manhattan. Since hotel rooms are generally available from 3:00 PM, you may relax in the lobby or join the optional New York City Introduction Tour: Central Park, Museum Mile and the Metropolitan Museum area, Columbus Circle, The Plaza Hotel, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the New York Public Library, the Flatiron Building, Madison Square Park, Washington Square Park, and New York University, continuing through SoHo, the Civic Center, and the Financial District past Wall Street, the World Trade Center area, and the Hudson River, before finishing at Times Square. After check-in, there's time to rest, take a walk through Central Park, and stop for photos at the Apple Store. Overnight in New York.
- Day 2 :
New York – The City's Icons
Free morning, or join the optional New York Icons Tour: Battery Park, a ferry to Liberty Island for the Statue of Liberty, and a return route on foot through the Financial District past Wall Street's Charging Bull, the New York Stock Exchange, the 9/11 Memorial, One World Trade Center, and the Oculus. Continue to DUMBO for views of the Brooklyn Bridge, then toward the Empire State Building, where an observation-deck visit can be added (approximately USD 52-65; the guide may suggest One Vanderbilt depending on availability). Evening free for shopping, dining, or exploring. Overnight in New York.
- Day 3 :
New York – Hidden Legends
Free morning, or join the optional New York Hidden Legends Tour: Chinatown, Little Italy, the cast-iron architecture of SoHo, and a photo stop on Perry Street in the West Village. Lunch options at Chelsea Market, a walk along the High Line to Hudson Yards and the Vessel, a rest at Bryant Park by the New York Public Library, and a finish at Grand Central Terminal as the city lights come on. Overnight in New York.
- Day 4 :
New York • Los Angeles
Check out of the New York hotel; onward travel to Los Angeles is arranged independently (not included in this land-only package). On arrival in Los Angeles, meet your representative for a private transfer to the hotel. Since rooms are generally available from 3:00 PM, relax in the lobby or join the optional Los Angeles & Santa Monica Tour, taking in the city's entertainment districts, landmark neighborhoods, and shopping areas before continuing to the Santa Monica waterfront for a stroll, cafés, shops, and street performers (this stop may run before check-in depending on scheduling). Overnight in Los Angeles.
- Day 5 :
Los Angeles • Optional San Diego Tour
Free morning, or join the optional San Diego Tour to explore the city's scenic coastline, historic districts, and landmarks (the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier is viewed and photographed from the exterior only). Return to Los Angeles afterward. Overnight in Los Angeles.
- Day 6 :
Los Angeles • Universal Studios Hollywood
Free morning, or join the optional Universal Studios Hollywood Tour for a day of movie sets, live shows, and rides at one of the world's best-known film studios and theme parks. Free time afterward. Overnight in Los Angeles.
- Day 7 :
Los Angeles • Las Vegas
After breakfast, depart for Las Vegas across the California desert (approximately 4.5 hours), with an optional stop at the Calico Ghost Town, a former silver-mining settlement, if group numbers allow. On arrival, hotel rooms may not yet be ready, so relax or join the optional Las Vegas Highlights Tour covering the resort corridor, themed hotels, shopping, the Sphere, and the Downtown entertainment district. Evening free to shop, dine, and explore. Overnight in Las Vegas.
- Day 8 :
Las Vegas • Grand Canyon
Free morning, or join the highly recommended optional Grand Canyon Tour for panoramic viewpoints and the history and culture of the Hualapai Tribe, returning to Las Vegas later in the day. An optional helicopter experience (USD 350) is also available, descending into the canyon toward the Colorado River with a short boat ride included - book several days ahead, subject to availability. In the evening, walk the Strip, take in a hotel show, or try one of the casinos; transfers can be arranged for evening shows. During summer, the Grand Canyon excursion may depart earlier to avoid the midday heat. Overnight in Las Vegas.
- Day 9 :
Las Vegas • San Francisco
Welcome to San Francisco! Check out of the Las Vegas hotel; onward travel to San Francisco is arranged independently (not included in this land-only package). On arrival, meet your guide for transfer to the hotel. While waiting for check-in, relax in the lobby or join the optional San Francisco City Tour, taking in the city's landmarks, historic neighborhoods, viewpoints, and waterfront districts. Evening free for dinner. Overnight in San Francisco.
- Day 10 :
San Francisco • Muir Woods & Premium Outlet
Free morning, or join the optional Muir Woods National Monument & Premium Outlet Tour: forest trails among towering redwoods, followed by shopping time at a premium outlet center. Return to San Francisco in the evening. Overnight in San Francisco.
- Day 11 :
San Francisco • Sausalito • Alcatraz • Fisherman's Wharf
After checking out, enjoy free time or join the optional Sausalito - Alcatraz Cruise - Fisherman's Wharf - Cable Car - Union Square Tour: a scenic visit to the waterfront town of Sausalito, a ferry back toward San Francisco passing Alcatraz Island, one of the city's cable cars, and free time for shopping, dining, or exploring downtown. Overnight in San Francisco.
- Day 12 :
Journey Home
Free time in San Francisco until your independently arranged onward travel. Your New York & Western USA adventure comes to an end here, with memories of four of America's most iconic cities.
